With its visually appealing content and easy on-the-go access, Instagram could become your new favourite. Here are some tips on how to use Instagram to help you design your dream home.

Hashtags

Hashtags are a great way to start discovering the newest trends or gaining a new perspective. Hashtags are the best way to look for something specific as well. Some of our favourite hashtags to use are #homeremodeling, #interiordesign, #homediy, #exteriordesign, and #exteriorrenovation. Hashtags are a great way to find new pages and from those new pages and posts, other hashtags can lead you to other ideas. Have a favourite hashtag? Follow it for a constant stream of new inspiration on your feed.

Explore Tab/Popular Page

Just want to have a not sure of the right hashtag? The explore page is perfect to browse with tabs that are customised to your liking based on previous searches and pages you follow. The explore page shows you picture posts, hashtag pages, and IGTV videos that you might like and can lead you down a wonderful rabbit hole of new ideas. One of our favourite tabs is the design tab to get lost in the wonderful inspiration of interior design and remodelling.

IGTV

Video posts are limited to one minute per video, but with IGTV you can find videos up to an hour long! You can follow your favourite architectural and remodelling pages and see detailed videos of their projects on IGTV. IGTV is great to use for tutorials and 'how to' videos, making Instagram an all in one package for pictures, posts, and videos.

Other Features

With Instagram’s direct messages, you can get in contact with your favourite Instagram users or pages to asks question or find out contact information. If you find a post you love and want to keep, you can save this post to your ‘Saved’ tab so that you can find later.
