ARC Design Services are delighted to have been shortlisted once again in the finals at the North West LABC Building Excellence Awards 2019 for two projects in the Best Individual New Home category. The prestigious award gala will take place in April where ARC Design Services will find out the final outcome.

ARC Design Services is thrilled to have wowed judges for a third consecutive year. The LABC Building Excellence Awards is a celebration of the construction industries’ achievements. They reward elements such as high building regulation compliance, outstanding craftsmanship, high-performance sustainability, creativity and technical innovation. Arc Design Services is honoured to be competing in the finals for another year, with two projects shortlisted in the category ‘Best Individual New Home’.

The first project is a complete new build of a two-storey house into a four-storey home, created over twice the square footage, in the same style and design as the original home. Using modern construction, contemporary building methods and cutting edge technology Arc Design Services was able to preserve the client’s emotional connection to the original structure while enhancing the sustainability and visual appeal. The end result is a product of innovative materials such as powder-coated aluminium, a principally Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF), and Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) to retain most of the energy already used and provide fresh filtered air.

The second project is a lovely ‘Arts & Crafts’ style home for a client that struggled with their architecture experience in the past. With the help of Arc Design Services, the client’s faith was restored with a luxury Art & Crafts three-storey home using energy efficient materials. Doubleglazing and insulation were used to reduce air leakage, increase heat retention, and reduced energy costs. The family home is now 4500 square feet with five bedrooms, five bathrooms, and many family and living rooms without compromising the internal space.
