Here at Arc Design Services, we can’t believe such an amazing year is coming to an end. When we look back at 2018, we realised we’ve not only achieved great success with our award shortlistings but more importantly, we created dream homes for our clients, which means we end 2018 with a warm glow!

We were delighted to be shortlisted for two LABC Excellence Awards in the Best Extension category, including for our client in Timperley who had a property with a lot of sentimental value attached but with a need to remodel the home for modern family life. Our second shortlisting was for a family home in Holmes Chapel, where we used innovative materials such as powder-coated aluminium to create durable window and door frames. We were thrilled when we found out that we had won the award for the Timperley home, and our third LABC Award in consecutive years. Our project was then shortlisted for the national finals.

Our awards success continued with two further projects shortlisted for the Northern Design Awards ‘Best Residential Build’ just last month. Our first shortlisting was for a house in Kenilworth Road, Sale which we designed in the 'Arts & Crafts' style, but with a modern twist, that balanced contemporary materials, such as dark grey aluminium sash windows, lead box windows and brick and render, whilst still maintaining a traditional style. The second, Bankhall Lane in Hale, saw an unusual challenge of doubling the square footage of a house without increasing the overall footprint. We also constructed this home principally using ICF (Insulated Concrete Formwork) and including energy efficient and carbon-friendly elements such as rainwater harvesting and MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery).

With each home that we work on, we look to deliver an outstanding service matched with innovative approaches to design and construction, as well as incorporating energy efficient features where we can. We have certainly worked on some challenging projects this year, but the most important thing is that our clients love their new homes.
