We’r delighted to announce that ARC Design Services has once again been shortlisted for the finals at the North West LABC Building Excellence Awards 2020. The prestigious award gala will take place on 24th April at Emirates Trafford, where we will find out the outcome of our nomination in two categories..

We’re thrilled to have wowed judges for yet a third consecutive year. The LABC Building Excellence Awards is a celebration of the construction industry’s achievements. They reward elements such as high building regulation compliance, outstanding craftsmanship, high-performance sustainability, creativity and technical innovation. We are honoured to be competing in the finals for another year, with two projects shortlisted in the categories of ‘Best Individual New Home’ and ‘Best extension or alteration to an existing dwelling’.

The first project shortlisted is ‘Bonville’ in Altrincham, a complete transformation of a tired and dated 1960s house into a stunning home! Through careful consideration of the client's requirements, regular communication with the local authority planning and building control teams, and close attention to detail of the project and site management, we were able to deliver a solution within 12 months that met all needs and is visually impressive. The highest quality design and build quality are always paramount in all projects to ensure that clients have a ‘forever’ family home. This particular transformation included reduce air leakage, increase heat retention and reduce energy costs. Further eco-friendly measures included LED lighting throughout support reduced costs with a Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) system, which provides a constant supply of fresh filtered air, maintaining the air quality as well as heating and cooling the building in an energy-efficient manner, whilst being practically imperceptible.

The second project to make the North West Finals is Dene Lodge, Hale This was a unique project because it was a replacement dwelling in the look of an ‘Arts and Crafts’ style home with more than twice the original square footage - 8000ft over 4 floors which included five bedrooms (all with en-suite), a large basement leisure suite, large open plan kitchen/ breakfast/ day living and dining room. The house was designed using an innovative ICF (insulated concrete formwork design) and clad with facing brick and stone.

Jonathan Riddle, Director of Arc Design Services says, “I so delighted that once again the team here at Arc Design Services has been recognised by the LABC as being a leader in our field. We pride ourselves in creating homes that are energy efficient and have sustainability at the heart of our designs, but most of all meet the needs of our clients, making their dream homes a reality. It makes me even more proud that we have been shortlisted in not just one, but two categories.”
